'Trade fair helps traders to promote their goods' | my Sarawak ...

MIRI: The three-day Miri Trade Fair held by See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd at Bintang Megamall here is seen as a platform to help traders to promote their goods while serving society.

Speaking at the official launching ceremony of the fair yesterday, executive chairman of Bintang Megamall, Datuk Prof Lau Siu Wai said over 60 traders were participating in the event and this allowed consumers to make good choices.

?There are various items on display and this is a good thing for society as they can make smart purchases at this one venue,? he said.

Commenting on the organiser See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd, he said the company had been successful in organising various major events that brought people of various races together, just like the three newspapers under them.

?We all know that the company?s newspapers namely See Hua Daily News, Utusan Borneo and The Borneo Post are very popular and well read by readers especially in the northern region of Sarawak.

?This event (the trade fair) is another proof of their success and I must praise them for their numerous successes,? he said.

Earlier, See Hua Marketing Miri senior branch manager Tiong Ngie Yew who gave a welcoming address said the company had organised three trade fairs successfully over the last two years.

?We have lined up various programmes for patrons of the fair and we hope everyone can find what they have been looking for at a good price here,? he said.

Meanwhile, the fair which started last Friday showcases products from small and medium enterprises as well as corporations. The fair participants were from Miri, Sibu, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur.

Products ranged from electronics, to furniture and bedding, kitchen and sanitary ware, tools and equipment, medical and healthcare, home improvement, rice, property, automobiles, water filtration and purification, higher learning institutions, travel and diving, printing and embroidery, clothing and fashion, repairs and maintenance, information technology, hair and beauty, skills and training, wedding planner, beauty and slimming as well as accommodations.

Among programmes for the three-day event were children?s singing competition by the Single Mothers Assistance Group, Fajarian Campus Rhythm by students of Fajar International College, health talk entitled ?Towards a healthy and energetic life?, Xiao Dou Ya performance and an autograph signing session by Geraldine Gan and Jie Ying.

Shoppers who spent a minimum of RM100 (including multiple receipts) within the same day at any participating outlets can take part in a lucky draw which offers attractive prices.
